Warsaw on anniversary Monopoly board

As Agnieszka Bielawska reports, instead of listing the best known streets in a given country, the anniversary edition features cities. Among the 22 capitals featured is Warsaw, selected from 80 cities in an Internet poll.

There were some 4 million voters from among 182 countries and the Polish capital placed sixth in the selection, preceding , among others London and Sydney.

“This is an excellent opportunity to promote Warsaw,” says Bartosz Milczarczyk, the spokesperson for the Warsaw City Hall. “Monopoly is distributed in some 114 countries across the globe, so we do hope that people will start talking about the Polish capital”.
