25 thousand people came to see the enormous spread at the city stadium where the opera by Bizet became a pretext to include some best loved fragments from popular Spanish zarzuelas, and for one big celebration, complete with Andalucian dancing horses. Elżbieta Krajewska is talking to director of Wrocław Opera Ewa Michnik, zarzuela director Ignacio Garcia (doubling as conductor of a police brass band!) and two great singers, Kate Aldritch and Arnold Rutkowski, Carmen and Don Jose in the production.
