The move came after Sikorski is said to have received written threats, which have since been confirmed by the politician’s office.

The threat is said to have been directed at Sikorski himself as well as his office staff, the contents of which were published by broadcaster Radio Zet.

“In 24h Radziu Sikorski will die, be killed,” the threat reads. “Tomorrow at 12:00 I will PLANT A BOMB in your office. You’ll f*cking explode like fireworks ACHTUNG. I don’t care about your fate. You work for Radziu – you die. You must die, that’s the price [you pay] for a free POLAND. Forgive me. Sometimes some innocents have to be killed for the rebirth of the nation.”

Upon inspection by authorities no bombs or explosives were found in either office. Police are still searching neighbouring properties, however. (jb)
