The Polish counterintelligence agency found a listening device in a restaurant before a meeting between Defence Minister Tomasz Simoniak and his Dutch counterpart Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

Minister Siemoniak, who is also the deputy prime minister, tweeted that “the important conversations were held at the Defence Ministry”.
Siemoniak added that the counterintelligence officers can be trusted and he was sure that there were no bugging devices left in the restaurant.
He explained that prior to meetings, every room is thoroughly scanned. “This time, it turned out that they found a bug,” Siemoniak said.
This news follows on the so-called “tape scandal” where members of the political and business circles were recorded in 2013, at two major restaurants in the Polish capital. That case is still being investigated. (rg)
