“A drug based on marijuana has been released onto the market, which is used to treat multiple sclerosis,” Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz said on Monday.
The head of government added that she expects more of this type of drugs to be "allowed systematically" following the tests.
The Prime Minister was questioned whether the government is planning measures designed to decriminalize marijuana for medicinal purposes.
"It would be good for us to regularly follow everything that happens on the pharmaceutical market at this time," Kopacz noted.
By Monday morning, some 204 people had been admitted to hospital due to suspected poisoning by a batch of designer drugs. The first cases were recorded on Thursday. (rg)
