Firemen were especially preoccupied with a 8-km stretch in the vicinity of Dobiegniew, north east Poland.
About 30 fallen trees blocked the line, bringing four trains to a standstill, among them the PKP Intercity service from Warsaw to Szczecin.
The process of clearing the line proved so time-consuming that the trains ultimately had to reverse, and they were later dispatched on different routes to their destinations
The PKP Intercity train was delayed some 798 minutes in total.
Passengers are entitled to have the costs of the tickets reimbursed. (nh/rk)
