Roundtable talks on hate speech to take place in Warsaw

The public prosecutor general, the children's rights ombudsman, alongside the Justice and Interior Ministries, as well as activists, are meeting at the Office of the Ombudsman at noon to hold talks on the growing problem of slurs and verbal aggression online.

The meeting is geared towards coordinating the actions of various institutions responsible for addressing the problem.

"At present, there are many materials posted online that are liable for investigation or prosecution," deputy ombudsman Stanisław Trociuk says, pointing to Europe's ongoing immigration crisis and the pending arrival of some 7,000 asylum seekers Poland agreed to take on as part of the bloc's relocation scheme in September.
