The Polish government has voted through a bill allowing for a paedophile registry.

One of the databases, concerning repeat criminals, will be publicly available. The government expressed its opinion, that the previous legislation was not protecting minors well enough, because it did not offer efficient means of control of sexual criminals.
The new bill should prevent paedophiles from contacting children, through publishing the data of repeat sex criminals.
Besides the public database, the bill also envisions creating a map of places that are especially prone to the threat of sexual crime. (tf/rg)
