Officers launched a drive to aid homeless people during the weekend, and police are appealing to members of the public to not turn a blind eye to those in need.
“Let's not be indifferent,” said police spokeswoman Agnieszka Hamelusz in an official appeal.
“Notify the police every time that someone is threatened with hypothermia,” she encouraged.
“Just one phone call can save someone's life.”
Temperatures dropped to as low as -20 degrees Celsius in recent days. However, weather forecasters have predicted that many regions will see the end of the cold snap on Friday. (nh)
