Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska, who quit the major opposition Law and Justice party to form her own group, Poland Comes First, has quit her position as the leader of the party, with reports that she may transfer to the ruling Civic Platform.

While MEP Pawel Kowal now skippers the fledgling party, it is feared that other politicians may jump the sinking ship, with rumours that Pawel Poncyljusz was also approached by Civic Platform.
Announcing her resignation, Kluzik-Rostkowska did not comment on her future political plans. “I’m going on a short holiday. We shall see what will happen next,” she told journalists.
However, the announcement that Kluzik-Rostkowska will transfer to Civic Platform may come next weekend during the ruling party’s convention.
Meanwhile, comments surrounding Kowal’s leadership of the party have pointed to a return to Law and Justice. “His aim will be to try and lead members of Poland Comes First back to [Kaczynski’s] party,” an anonymous source linked to Poland Comes First told the daily Polska The Times. (jb)
