Part of the register will be made available to public online. It is to list paedophiles, repeat offenders and perpetrators guilty of sex crimes of extreme cruelty. Citizens will have access to convicts’ personal details, photograph and their whereabouts.
An expanded database, accessible to the judicial authorities, law enforcement agencies and state officials, will provide more detailed information, such as an offender’s permanent address and temporary location.
Access will also be granted to childcare institutions, which will be required to screen prospective employees for sex offences.
Also, a map charting sex crimes in Poland will be released on the website of the Polish police headquarters. (aba/pk)
