But 38 percent of Poles see developments in a positive light, while 17 percent do not have an opinion on the matter.
The survey found that critical views are held mainly by those with leftist and centrist views, non-believers, as well as people who are unhappy with their financial status and also by those in the highest per-capita income bracket.
Over eight in ten supporters of the ruling conservative Law and Justice party think that the country is going in the right direction.
The survey was conducted between 17 and 25 August on a representative selection of 1,033 Polish residents over 18 years of age. (mk/pk)
