The poll found that 48 percent of respondents, and 71 percent of those who attended World Youth Days, remember the pope’s words.
Pride of place goes to Francis’s memorable metaphors, including “sometimes even plates fly” and “don’t end your day without making peace” when he talked about marriage, and his exhortation to young people: “We didn’t come into this world to make our lives a comfortable sofa to fall asleep on.”
According to 91 percent of those polled, World Youth Days were an efficiently organized event which had a positive impact in terms of promoting Poland.
A smaller number of Poles - 60 percent - hope that the pope’s visit will deepen the nation’s faith, while one in four Poles say that the visit did not have any impact on people’s faith.
The poll was conducted on 17-25 August on a representative group of 1,033 adult Poles. (mk/pk)
