The meeting is to focus on the current situation in Poland, including the army, internal and external security, and controversial education reforms being carried out by the government, the head of the party, Grzegorz Schetyna, has announced.
The main goal of the gathering is to prepare a programme for next year’s local elections. The delegates are to draw on ideas incorporated into a declaration titled “Civic Poland 2.0” adopted last autumn.
The proposals include transferring a larger share of personal income tax to local governing bodies. The programme is to be adopted at the party’s convention in September. (aba/pk)
