Support for ruling party growing: report

Poland's ruling conservatives would get 40 percent support if parliamentary elections were held this month, four percentage points more than the result that put them in power two years ago, according to an IBRiS poll.

The poll for the Rzeczpospolita daily put the largest opposition grouping, the Civic Platform party, second with 21 percent support, while Nowoczesna (Modern) would get nine percent.
The Kukiz'15 grouping would get seven percent support and the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) five percent, just meeting the threshold required to enter parliament.
The SLD does not have any representation in the current parliamentary term, which ends in 2019. (mk/vb)
