The reshuffle in Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's Cabinet comes after a swathe of Polish government ministers secured seats in the European Parliament as result of a vote held last month.

Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło, Interior Minister Joachim Brudziński, Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Elżbieta Rafalska, and Education Minister Anna Zalewska are among those who were elected EuroMPs on May 26.

Poles last Sunday went to the ballot box to choose a total of 52 deputies to the European Parliament, the directly elected parliamentary institution of the European Union, which their country joined in 2004.

Poland's governing conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party won a decisive victory over a coalition of opposition parties in the elections.
